Vlade Masterclass

Two Breakers Academy players, Jack Salt (15 years) and Matthew Freeman (14 years) got a chance of a lifetime this past Saturday when they were invited to meet NBA legend Vlade Divac and receive some one-on-one coaching from him. Vlade Divac imparted some of his invaluable knowledge from his time as a professional basketball player and gave the lucky Academy players a master class in how to be an elite Post player. Vlade Divac was in Auckland to raise funds and awareness of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation which he and his wife founded in 2007 to give humanitarian aid and provide educational programs in Serbia and other countries in need.

 

Vlade Divac boasts a 16 year NBA career, playing for the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets and the Sacramento Kings. During this time he received such accolades as being an NBA All-Star and making the FIBA greatest players list. He ended his illustrious basketball career in 2005 and now heads the Serbian Olympic Committee as well as focusing on his humanitarian efforts.
